The Sweet Sistah Splash program, The Cincinnati Young Entrepreneurs Program encourages economic stability, business creation, financial literacy, and healthy social and leadership skills by providing entrepreneurship education, mentorship, and leadership development to youth ages 7-19.
This program began in 2013 and has ran annually serving over 300+ youth till date. It is a two part program. One serving youth ages 7-13 and the other serving youth ages 14-19. In the Summer Program, youth ages 7-13 learn the ends and outs of starting their own businesses. Youth learn how to create a personalized product, service and brand, write mini business and marketing plans, create budgets, manage inventory, fundraise, and how to price and sale what they create! Learning these skills will increase the capacity of the community to develop healthy relationships with financial literacy and practices and end counterproductive behaviors that encourage poverty, violence and limit self-sufficiency. Local small businesses become positive role models by contributing to the program on a variety of subjects like cash flow, customer service, credit and more. This program also stresses the importance of knowledge of self, artistic expression, academics, and various activities, as it relates to being a successful entrepreneur and positive citizen of the community.
The Cincinnati Young Entrepreneurs Business Mentorship Program works with youth ages 14-19 teaching them the ins and outs of running their own businesses. This program identifies and focuses on each participant's individual strengths and applies them to business operations at Sweet Sistah Splash giving the participants hands-on experience. Sweet Sistah Splash being such a multi faceted organization, there are numerous opportunities for the participants to excel. We work with a core group of teens that will each execute a special project for the business operations of Sweet Sistah Splash Culture & Wellness Center such as:
A Social Media Campaign
A Graphic Design Project
Systems & Operations Development
A Marketing Campaign
By giving our core group hands-on experience and professional coaching, we are increasing their knowledge and skill base, self esteem, and their options and opportunities to pursue various career paths. Which in turn decreases their likelihood to participate in violent or unhealthy activities due to being preoccupied with positive activities.
Youth learn how to start their own businesses and develop a product to sell!
Teens receive hands on Entrepreneurship Training, Event Planning Coaching, and Business Mentorship.
